Gierd is committed to protecting individuals' privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the data collected by Gierd when individual users interact with either its website or through its Customers’ websites and/or platforms that utilize Gierd Services. Gierd’s “Services” include but are not limited to the following: Omni-Channel Commerce Solution, Market Price Analytics Tool, Financial Performance & Reporting, Financial Reconciliation Automation Tool, Intelligent Demand Forecasting Tool, Inventory Pipeline Visibility Tool, Authentication Testing Program, and the Deliverish Hub.
This Privacy Policy describes how Gierd collects, receives, processes, shares, retains, and deletes data. “Customer Data” refers to any data, information, or material that Gierd’s Customers make available to Gierd, and “Personal Data” is any data, information, or material that identifies a particular individual user of a Customer; Customer Data may contain Personal Data.
Gierd’s Customers collect and manage their respective individual users' Personal Data collection and usage under their own privacy policies. When an individual user enters their personal information on a Customer’s website using Gierd Services, Gierd processes this Personal Data as a data “processor” under the direction of its Customers. Customers as data “controllers” are responsible for complying with any regulations or laws that require providing notice, disclosure, and/or obtaining consent prior to collecting their individual user’s Personal Data.
What Information Gierd Collects or Receives
Website
Gierd collects minimal Personal Data from visitors when viewing or interacting with its website www.gierd.com via chat application (“ZenDesk”) or if using Google Profile information. Gierd only asks for a name, email address, and a brief message about the visitor’s interest in its Services. There is no passive collection of any Personal Data, and visitors are free to explore the website without providing any Personal Data.
Customers Using Gierd’s Services
Gierd’s Services allow its Customers to streamline and manage marketing, sales, and inventory content. When Customers use Gierd’s Services, they may collect an individual user’s Personal Data and are responsible for correcting, deleting, or updating the information they collect and process using Gierd’s Services as well as for complying with any regulations or laws that require providing notice, disclosure, and/or obtaining consent prior to transferring or sharing the Personal Data to Gierd for processing purposes.
Categories of Personal Data Gierd receive as part of the Usage Data may include:
- Identifiers (name, address, email, phone number, payment information);
- Demographic Information (gender, race, age);
- Location (mailing address);
- Employment information;
- Education;
- Tax or Financial;
- Commercial (purchase history, preferences);
- Online (browsing history, Customer site interaction).
How Gierd Uses this Information
Website
Gierd uses Personal Data provided via its website’s chat application to provide answers to visitors and potential Customer questions about its Services. This Personal Data is used for no other purpose.
Gierd also posts Customer feedback on its website. Only the Customer’s name, title, organization, and a short feedback statement is presented on the website and no other Personal Data is used for this purpose.
Customers Using Gierd’s Services
Gierd processes the data for the provision of its Services to its Customers. The data is aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized, and Gierd will not attempt to identify individual users. This is purely a B2B transaction and Gierd does not actively collect any Personal Data from other sources for this purpose.
Gierd may need to use data to investigate and help prevent security incidents. Gierd may also use data to meet legal requirements as required.
How Gierd Shares or Transfers Information
Gierd is committed to ensuring data is shared or transferred ONLY for specific limited business purposes. Gierd does not sell data to any third parties for any reason whatsoever.
Gierd shares or transfers data with its Customers in the form of its Services. Data is processed by Gierd with output including but not limited to marketing reports, financial analysis, inventory pipeline visibility, financial reconciliations, and market price estimates; this is then shared with its Customers to effectively support their marketing and sales activities.
Gierd also shares or transfers data with its third-party service providers to support its Services. Service providers are prohibited from using data except for these specific purposes and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of all data. Gierd does not share data with its third-party service providers for any other reason.
